Programme Manager

Salary: £55k - £70k
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne or Norwich

The programme is a major collaborative, international initiative with a global vehicle manufacturer involving the creation, establishment and scale-up of several product and service development initiatives involving the use of second life batteries in energy storage systems.

Role Overview

The Programme Manager will lead the delivery of one of our key strategic programmes of activity from conception to maturity.  

The programme is a major collaborative, international initiative with a global vehicle manufacturer involving the creation, establishment and scale-up of several product and service development initiatives involving the use of second life batteries in energy storage systems.

Workstreams within the programme will include product design and delivery, technical and commercial product support, IT services, Logistics, Manufacturing and Finance – from scoping to business as usual and scale-up.

The role will have responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of the programme in line with an agreed timeline, budget and OKPIs.

Main Activities / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful programme delivery and ensuring it delivers the expected and agreed technical and commercial outcomes and benefits to both companies (Connected Energy and our partner).
  • Accountable for the programme’s quality, delivery, cost, features, technology, risks, and sustainability
  • Coordination of the various workstreams with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Programme tracking, monitoring, and reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Coordination of milestones reviews with key stakeholders.
  • Management of programme
  • Day-to-day project/programme

Person Specification

Must demonstrate:

  • Experience in delivering multi-million-pound commercial projects, working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with common project management tools and frameworks (GANTT, budget tracking, change management, V-Cycle, risks management, etc…)
  • Being commercially astute
  • Great communication, reporting & presentation skills
  • Great relationship management skills
  • Great coordination and organisation skills
  • Great creative thinking and analytical skills
  • The ability to lead and work as part of an international team
  • At least a bachelor’s degree level of education
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Desirable skills and experience: 

  • Technical product and/or service delivery experience in the automotive or energy sectors
  • Engineering degree/education
  • APM/Prince2 qualification
