Meet the team

Matthew is our founder and CEO. He established the company in 2010 following his work in a number of energy and transport consultancies. Matthew is driven by developing a business that joins the worlds of energy storage, electric vehicles and the circular economy.

Alex oversees the operations of the company, leading the team responsible for delivering the scale-up of our second life product. He also plays a key role in building partnerships and working in collaboration with our battery supply partners. Alex has a decade of e-mobility experience at firms such as Renault, Stellantis, Toyota, JLR and Arrival.

Rob leads the development of our utility-scale, 50MW+ product. He will oversee the establishment of our demonstrator site and all revenue and commercial aspects of the product. A law graduate based in Bristol, he joins the company from Aura Power, a PV and BESS greenfield developer active in the UK, EU and North America.

Nigel heads up our sales team. With over ten years of business development and project management experience, Nigel joined the team in 2018 after working in both the energy services and renewables sector. His role is to grow the sales of our systems and services.

Anya heads up our marketing team. With over 20 years of marketing experience, Anya joined the team in 2022 following a ten-year career in the electric vehicle charging sector. Her role is to raise awareness of the benefits of our product and services.

Jonny heads up our supply chain team. With almost 20 years of supply chain experience, Jonny joined the team in 2015 following a ten-year career in the automotive sector. Jonny is responsible for procurement and manufacture of our E-STOR systems.

Frazer joined Connected Energy in 2016 and now leads our data services team. Using his background in mathematics and energy engineering, he is developing big data and artificial intelligence tools to further optimise performance of our systems.

Tania is our Operations Manager and has been with the company for over three years. She manages our commitment to quality, health, safety and the environment with our ISO accreditations, and continuous improvement of operational processes throughout the business and project manages our grant funded innovation projects.

Scott is a professionally qualified accountant coming from a predominantly audit background. Since then he has held senior finance roles in the renewable, manufacturing, and private training sectors. Scott’s role is to ensure the effective operation of the finance function.
